I have to admit when I opened the seed packets I wasn’t expecting to see little peas! In April I could plant out directly but to give the seedlings a chance against mice, birds, snails & slugs I’m going to pot up on the windowsill first.
‘Charmette’ early dwarf petit-pois is a gourmet type of pea. It makes huge numbers of little pods crammed full of sweet peas and shouldn’t need support grown in double rows as only 30cm tall and will support each other.
The Mangetout pea, ‘Oregon Sugar pod’, produces heavy crops and will be great to steam and stir-fry.
