Coriander cilantro

Plot 51 CorianderI’m going for it with the coriander. Last year it didn’t do so well in a pot. Because it likes to be planted in situ I’ve put it in the ground and it’s really taken off.

Coriander, also known as cilantro, Chinese parsley or dhania, is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae. First attested in English late 14th century, the word coriander derives from the old French coriandre, which comes from Latin coriandrum and the Greek koris, meaning ‘bed bug’.

Coriander is native to regions spanning from southern Europe and North Africa to southwestern Asia. It is a soft, hairless plant growing to 50 cm tall, green, leafy and strong-smelling with a fresh, citrus taste .
