Origanum majorana: marjoram

Plot 51 MarjoramMarjoram Origanum majorana, is a cold-sensitive perennial herb with sweet pine and citrus flavours. Although all marjoram varieties are fragrant and taste delicate when cooked, each has a different flavour depending on the climate in which it has been grown.

Marjoram is indigenous to Cyprus and southern Turkey, and was known to the Greeks and Romans as a symbol of happiness.
